Ever thought about going to England with your school? Well, we experienced it first-hand! In the week from the 12th to 16th August we, were allowed to live in Harry Potter-like houses in London. And don’t worry, we didn’t have to sleep underneath the staircase. But back to our week in and around London. The grades from 8 to 10 travelled together with the best bus driver you can imagine, getting a tour through London, seeing the coast of Beachy Head, visiting cities like Brighton and Canterbury.

We, the students, and the teachers were and still are filled with gratitude for the chance and experience we got. Not just the Historic River Tour in Canterbury where we all got new knowledge about the city and how low the bridges were, but also the tour through London with the marvellous Trudy who told us in an incomparable way a lot of valuable facts about London and its history, with her truly loveable and nice personality.

Of course, the teachers allowed us free time, for their and our sake. We went shopping in malls. Streets like Oxford Street and could experience straight from the source how Londoners lived, talked, and acted. Needless to say, we also went and visited the museums, to be specific, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Of course, on a trip to London there must be at least one sight that we visited, and that was the London Eye, not all of us since some students thought it would be better to get scared in London Dungeon. But the view across the Thames was amazing and worthy to be seen.

All together you can probably guess that we were all sad how short it felt after we had to leave and take the ferry back to Europe. But still, we’re very grateful for the amazing days and experience together.

A huge thank you goes out to the teachers that made it possible for us, to Sebastian and his exquisite driving skills, to Trudy and her lovely tour around London, and of course to our host families that thankfully weren’t the Dursleys.
